The Aftermath of "The Decision" Cavaliers: Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

The last time I checked free agency meant that a player was able to explore all of his options and decide if they wanted to move to another team or not. Contrary to the belief of some of the fans in Cleveland and of the Owner Dan Gilbert, players can leave teams at the end of their contracts. Long gone are the days when a player would stay with a team for their entire career. The times are different these days and in some cases it may be in the best interest of the player to move to another organization in order to fulfill their dreams of becoming a world champion. We can still love and root for a team, but if you like a particular player then you should respect their decision to move. It is their decision at the end of the day. Sometimes those decisions are made because of financial reasons and sometimes they are made in response to other personal situations that a player may be dealing with at the time of their free agency period.

To thine own self be true LeBron...Good Luck in Miami should have been what the owner should have said. Maybe he was hurt. Maybe he doesn't mean any of the things that he has said in is "OPEN LETTER" and only time will tell if he does. During LeBron's statemens he said that any organization can fire a player at any time. He is very away of the role he plays in the organization and in the NBA in general. He always has been aware of his role and he has lived up to the hype with the exception of winning a title. Most players don't make it to winning teams, because they wait on the owners and coaches to surround them with a great cast. In this case LeBron James has made a decision to choose as much of his supporting cast as possible. It may be a new modem for the NBA. I hope that everthing works out well for him and we end up saying once again, "Long Live the King."
